Dear Kindergarten Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful summer. The new school year is almost upon us so I am sending this letter with some important information for you and your child to ensure a smooth entry into Kindergarten. Please note that this letter applies only to Kindergarten student schedules.
Due to the ongoing labour dispute it remains uncertain whether classes will resume on September 2. Kindergarten students traditionally start school on a graduated entry schedule. What this means is that usually by the first day of school our Kindergarten teachers would have contacted the families and arranged interview times and the days of partial attendance with the first full day of classes on September 10th. Once it is announced what day school will start our Kindergarten teachers will be contacting you with all the information you will need in regards to school start-up. Look to our school district website at http://www3.sd73.bc.ca/ or our Raft River website at http://raft-river.sd73.bc.ca/. If you have any further questions please feel free to call me at 205-674-2218.
It is my sincere hope that the parties come to agreement soon so that we can get our kids back to school. My fingers are crossed. We look forward to seeing you soon!
